Beginner/Hatha I YogaThis class offers students an introduction to basic poses, chanting, pranayama, and some meditation. Care is taken in proper alignment and individual modification in poses. The focus is on body awareness and developing flexibility.
Back Health Class
This class offers students with back problems solutions and exercises to work on. Although designed with back problems in mind, the class offers good insights into keeping a healthy back well. As in all the classes at the studio, chanting, pranayama and meditation are offered during class.
Mixed Level YogaThese classes offers students a full range of movements including Sun Salutations and standing poses. The focus is on strength building and proper alignment while still offering individual modifications. This class is appropriate for students who have some background in Hatha Yoga. As in all classes at the studio, chanting, pranayama and meditation are offered during class.
Yoga ExpressThis class offers students the opportunity to challenge themselves. This class is a purely physical class and is not appropriate for students with severe limitations. Using the basic Sun Salutation as the model, standing poses will flow one into the other for a vigorous workout. The emphasis will be on flexibility and strength training for those students with a good foundation.
Gentle/Restorative YogaRestorative classes offer students the opportunity to re-align the spine. Props are used to achieve the proper placement in passive asanas. Gentle Yoga is based on the Structural Yoga Therapy Joint Freeing Series. These classes are appropriate for all levels and as in all the classes at the studio, chanting, pranayama and meditation are offered during class.
